Cupra delivers 10,000th vehicle in Australia

Cupra has celebrated the opening of its new Essendon Fields ‘Garage’ in Melbourne with the delivery of its 10,000th vehicle in Australia.

The feat comes four years after the sporty Spanish brand first launched in Australia, with the milestone delivery a new Cupra Terramar – the brand’s newest SUV.

“Reaching 10,000 deliveries in Australia is an important milestone for Cupra and one that reflects the strong connection we are building with Australian customers,” said Jerome Figuiere, director of Cupra Australia.

Cupra Essendon Fields has officially opened its doors at one of Melbourne’s busiest car dealership precincts, surrounded by brands like BMW, Land Rover, Volvo, BYD, Subaru and Kia.

The new location replaces the brand’s former Richmond dealership, still run by prominent dealer organisation Zagame Automotive Group.

“The opening of Essendon Fields underlines our confidence in the market and our belief that drivers are ready for a contemporary performance brand that dares to be different,” said Mr Figuiere.

Cupra is in the midst of a massive product rollout both globally and here in Australia, with the all-new Terramar and Tavascan SUVs launching last year alongside the significantly updated Leon Hatch and Leon Sportstourer small car range. Fresh product helped fuel a 21 per cent increase in Cupra Australia’s sales last year.

This year will see the launch of the updated Formentor crossover, the brand’s most popular model by some margin, as well as the all-electric Born VZ hot hatch.
